Hanging Onto Those Holiday Volunteers!

Join BVU’s Volunteer Central for a free BYOL (Bring Your Own Lunch) session on core skills for Volunteer Coordinators and Managers focused on managing volunteers during the holiday season.

Meet with fellow Volunteer Managers from across the Greater Baltimore region to celebrate your successes in working with one-time/holiday volunteers and speak frankly about your current challenges.  Some questions to be addressed: How can I best harness the energy and spirit of volunteers looking to give back during the holidays? How do I get them to come back? How do I tactfully turn away volunteers when we are at capacity? How can I best manage the post-holiday volunteer rush blues!?

Based on your feedback from our last Lunch & Learn session, our program will feature plenty of time for networking with your colleagues, sharing stories and experiences with the group and a critical challenge activity. PLEASE NOTE: In preparation for the small group critical challenge activity consider a situation or opportunity that significantly challenges you as a manager of volunteers to share with your colleagues. 

Participants are encouraged to bring any pertinent copies of their organization's volunteer program materials to share with the group (approx. 10 copies should do).  Be sure to bring plenty of business cards as well!
